Kerry’s Corner: Joe Rogan’s Strange Times Tour

Greetings, everybody! Recently I was given a special treat by my beautiful wife. Once she gave that to me, she then told me she got me tickets to one of my favorite people on the planet: Joe Rogan.

I’ve been a fan of his for a while now. His last Netflix special, Triggered, was one of the funniest stand up specials I’ve ever seen. I listen to his podcast quite regularly, and have enjoyed his UFC commentary for years. When I heard he was gearing up for another tour, I hoped and prayed he would come near my area. Don’t know how that voodoo vixen found out before I did, but she was able to score tickets.

Now, I had no idea what to expect. I knew he was trying all new material, and he is able to keep a lid on it surprisingly well. He even went so far as to call someone out who was clearly taking a video during the show. It was epic. He can bitch someone out like a professional.

His opening act this go around was Tony Hinchcliffe, one of the top young rising comedians in the world, and also the author of one of my favorite comedy skits currently. His Netflix special, One Shot, is comedy gold, and is the perfect intro to an up and coming genius. Needless to say, when the two of them paired up and I had a chance to see them, I was over the fucking MOON.

Tony came out with some new shit, as well, and I listened aptly to his blend of self-deprecation and self-confidence loving every minute of it. I won’t spoil any jokes they did, but this guy needs to be more popular immediately. He’s too good at taking innocuous things and turning them into something hilarious. I was already laughing my ass off when he introduced Joe that I wasn’t sure my body could take it. My face was already hurting and my lungs were on fire from laughter.

My body held up nicely, though, and thank god it did, because Joe Rogan was one of the funniest mother fuckers I have ever heard. If you ever get the chance to see him, do it without a second thought. Yeah, the meathead exterior might throw you off, but he is seriously one of the best. Of course, if you are easily offended, you should DEFINITELY go, because when you start to squirm and think about leaving, the people around you will be having the time of their lives, and you can introspect why you are such a boring person. Do yourself a favor and see if you can find tickets. Them shits sell out fast.
